Dosha (Bio-energy)

The 3 Primary Principles, or Cosmic Forces of the Universe are physically represented in the body in 3 principal forms, called Doshas: Vata (Air), Pitta (Fire) & Kapha (Water).
Together with the Dosha's various properties and relations, they explain our complete physiologies.

Tri Doshas (3 Bio-energies)

The concept of Tri Dosha

3 manifestations comprised of mental, physical & spiritual qualities, known as Doshas (Bio-Energies).
The literal meaning from Sanskrit is "that which is quick to go out of balance".[CS]

The normal and abnormal functions of the Dosha
The Tri Doshas can be known as ‘Energies’, as they are more energy than matter.
If the Doshas become imbalanced, then they can manifest themselves as matter & are known as ‘diseases’.

The Panchamahabhutah (5 Great Elements) on an atomic level
Due to the infinitesimal nature of the paramanus (atoms) in the 5 Great Elements, which bestows on them
a property that enables them to “…come into being and pass out of it…” [Hiriyanna, 2004] 5
The Doshas, and therefore the human body, is in a state of constant flux, or dynamic equilibrium.

The concept of Prakruti (individual nature or constitution)
The human body consists of all the 5 Great Elements, therefore we all made up of all 3 of the Doshas.
The unique pramana (quantity) of each of the 5 Great Elements in an individual will determine the predominancy of one of the doshas.

The 5 Great Elements, the fundamental material substances of the universe, are the the Gross or Dense
form of the 5 Subtle Elements; their material counterparts. At the time of conception, the 5 Great Elements thus manifest themselves & (Individual Nature) can be compared to (the human gene).
